Greetings, alien from Saturn! You have stepped in the online abode of Claire, which houses her mindless musings and lovely rantings.
You're obviously permitted to have a look around, but of course, itchy fingers aren't entertained - so don't take what's not yours. ;)

Let me tell you a secret.

Monday, September 21, 2009 @ 10:41 PM

I am talking to Nellie on msn (omg it's been ages) and we are chatting about our schools blabla.

So, let me tell you a secret, that some may know, some may not know. I shall not mention schools because it is google-able, but...

on weekends, people from X and Y university go to Z university to study or have project meetings.

Why? Because Z is in town. It is central. It is in CITY HALL. Can you guess? It's pretty obvious!

And I just had to confess it because yesterday, when I was at Z myself, my groupmates recognized at least 3 tables behind us who were also from our school, and when I saw Terri walking past, she also said she is here to do her project meeting!

What a coincidence! Or not?

Perks of having a university in town. It's awesome. Thank you!

How I met... Wong.

Sunday, September 20, 2009 @ 9:02 PM

"Wong come to Canteen twee ok!"
"Ok! See you guys there!"
** Twee is pronounced as Twea.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Wong misinterpreted the message as Canteen A (it sounds like A) but Mandy meant it as Canteen 2 (which is twee in dutch).

Wong walks all the way to Canteen A, only to find J and C eating subway together.

"Hey J! Where's Mandy and Jois?"
"They're at Canteen 2!"
"Oh. Oh shit man!"

Hahahahhah. Funniest. Shit. Ever.

What makes it funnier was that Cherlyn bumped into Wong the day before, and thought he was kinda cute. And she told J that he was cute, and W told J that he saw a cute girl the same day. J put two and two together and all of us laughed our butts off.

The beginning! Haha.

Stinky Perfume and Noisy kids.

@ 8:44 PM

I can't stand people who use cheap perfume and spray SO MUCH until you can smell them a mile away, and WORSE still, it irritates your nose and you start sniffling.

Or pinching your nose to PREVENT sniffling.

It's horrible. I had to endure the entire mass like that. And it was because of the woman in front of me. It was really bad. I was considering switching places with my brother but it'll be too obvious.

So please, either use deodorant or expensive perfume/cologne. Please be considerate. Urgh.

And I cannot take it when I see screaming kids on trains. They should be FINED. That's even more inconsiderate than people EATING ON THE TRAIN. Goodness.

It prevents me from wanting to have kids. Or even if I have kids, I make sure I smack them and ask them to shutup. It's the only way they'll learn!

Ok, need to start packing the table. It's superrrrrr messy.

Cheers.

@ 11:34 AM

I have just checked my calendar to find out that my exams end on the 24th of November. WOOHOO.

Which means I have a month of holiday! (December) I love long holidays.

Anyway, recess week is coming soon, and that's my only break until 24th of Nov, so I must balance work and play well.

I need to go shopping! And I also have to clear a huge backlog of tutorials that I didn't do or don't understand (ie, leases. WTH IS GOING ON?!)

And I think I am finally recovering from that nasty cough! Maybe it's because I actually REALLY stopped drinking cold drinks and eating fried things that I shouldn't eat. Teehee.

Last night I had a strange dream. Can't really remember much anymore, but I woke up feeling strange and wondering why I let good friends slip in contact from me. But we get separated in life, and it gets hard to find time for everyone to meet!

Never mind, I shall stop thinking about good friends meeting, and instead think of what I shall buy for myself to pamper ME. Hoho.

I bought a pair of heels!
I want new clothes!
I think I need a backpack, but only for this sem?
I want to check out new cosmetics. Haha. Just for kicks. I need a formal lipstick anyways.

And this week I have...
Company Law presentation!
Tax Quiz!
Deadline for IT Project coming!
Need to read leases! :(
Need to read Forensic Science stuff because there is a mock test.

Thank god tomorrow is a holiday. Well, sorta? Because I still have e-learning for IT anyways.

Monday... blues?

Monday, September 14, 2009 @ 3:08 PM

We are in the FTR 3 classroom now! It is very exciting because every computer has two moniters. It is amazingly cool. We were very hyped about it last week, but it kinda died down because of many SAP problems - many of our programs hung.

But this week everything seems to be working fine! Happiness!

Anyway, here are some random thoughts for the day.

Have you ever stared at a pigeon? Well, when you're waiting for people or waiting for time to fly by, just stare at a pigeon.

Notice how a pigeon walks. He bobs his head. What if... a pigeon is sine artist's mascot... is a pigeon. HAHA. Then he can bob his head to the music! How awesome right. Then maybe the pigeon can rap and breakdance too. That's cool man.

Okay, end of randomness. Need to pay attention now!

Almost 20 years old. Sobs.

Sunday, September 13, 2009 @ 12:20 AM

I am almost 20. Sobs. I am waving good bye to teenage days and supposedly welcoming the adult life. The life of responsibility and maturity. Sniff.

What happened the past year? Hmmm.

Well, last year Cherlyn surprised me (with a few other pals) with a cake at midnight. My first midnight surprise ever! (yes yes deprived etc) and we chatted until 4am. I had an IT quiz at 9am the next day and I got 50/100. HAHA.

Birthday was alright. Japan was amazing. I will definitely go back!! Christmas surprise (I touched down on the 25th of Dec at like 1.25am. Spent Christmas on the plane) was happy. Celebrating with the family and relatives as usual.

January to April... Semester Two! Was... interesting. Living in hall was relaxing, didn't need to wake up at 6?!?!?! And I looked forward to every single day. Because it was so slack. I actually SWAM in the Sports Hall pool. Wow. My cores weren't very packed. I had a four day week. Most importantly, I didn't give tuition.

I was rarely at home though. But it was okay. Cherlyn was an awesome roomie. Falling sick the entire Feb and part of March was... memorable, you have to admit. It's not everyday where you wake up and feel like puking sooo bad. And having a fever every alternate week (with the roomie filling in the OTHER alternate weeks) was... omg.

Miss wearing IJ PE shirts or SAJC PE shirts + FBT shorts + slippers to school. Really looked like I just woke up. Haha.

Doing work until 1-2am in the morning and not feeling sleepy at all in class the next day (because I mostly only had morning lessons, which started at 10.30am) Frequenting Macdonalds at 12mn just before it closed... having Cherlyn's ahem give us drinks at 12mn also..... :P (i admit i was a free rider for that)

Of course there are SO MUCH MORE THINGS THAT HAPPENED. For example, watching movies on the laptop til 3-4am... going to play the piano in school... pillow fights... screaming... security guard chasing... woah. This is why you SHOULD stay in hall. Haha.

After school was over, doing Beerfest with Cherlyn... I thank god it wasn't anyone else but you <3 June working... July tuitioning... enjoying life, enjoying each other's company...

Korea... good times...

Then smack! School started. Super stressed. Trying to balance work and play and life and tuition. Dying of stress, unable to catch up with tutorials, but still happy from just making someone smile...

I'd say being 19 rocks. Being 20 is one step closer to the big 2-1, but I still have an excuse to be immature. HAHA.

So much more pressure to be 21. But let's not think about it yet. Haha. 20, here we come! :D

Disappointments.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009 @ 1:19 PM

In life, it had always been relatively easy.
Primary school you have no worries, (can't say the same for current primary school students, they are so sad now.)
I didn't even study for PSLE.
Secondary school... adapting to surroundings, handling scandals, rumours, building good impressions (hopefully), finding out how to talk to people of the opposite sex etc. O levels... weren't very stressful. Choir was fun. People were great.
Junior college... was strange. First time with guys in my class. Very very strange. A little bit of a culture shock but it was okay eventually. Drama was a way to release bent up frustration, and I really looked forward to it, even though we had strict teachers.
Holidays after junior college. Needless to say, this was interesting and FUN.
University. First time I ever did a paper and knew I was going to flunk it. First time I left so many questions blank. Fitting in was different, and there wasn't an outlet that I could use to just... relax.
It is also the first time where I felt like I really couldn't do something. Even if i tried. Things weren't within my control.
There were fair bits of fun but they were short-lived.
And, since primary school until now, whenever I wanted to achieve good grades, I managed to do it (somehow) but now I can't. Competing with seriously competitive and intelligent individuals is draining. Working while studying is exhausting. Juggling between emotional situations as well as physical ones makes my immunity lower and I fall sick every other month. I didn't use to be like this.

But today another disappointment has kicked in.
Where do I fit in the world?
Am I meant for greater things?
What do I want in life?
Is accounting the path for me?

I don't know the answers to these questions, but to them I can only offer one thing - tears.

Can't even drink WATER on a train.

Monday, September 7, 2009 @ 6:08 PM

This is infuriating. It has been bugging me for quite a long period of time already but I just haven't had the time to sit down and rant about it.

But I do now!

If you didn't already know, SMRT has banned even the consumption of WATER on trains!

The only thing I can respond to that is... WHY?!?!

Is it because they want the place to be CLEAN? But it is already so clean! And even if people spill water, it will evaporate. Ants will NOT come (compare to spilling coke) and I honestly haven't seen anyone spill anything or leave anything or drop anything on the trains in very very very long. In fact, the only thing I see that sometimes people leave behind is tissue. I don't even see water spills.

Especially for poor me, who has been coughing every 5 minutes, and taking a super long train ride from Yishun to freaking Boon Lay (45 mins, thanks) and I am not even allowed to drink a sip of water to ease my throat which is screaming "I NEED WATER OMG"

And what about crying babies who need milk. Are we supposed to get OFF the train, get OUT of the station, then put the bottle in the baby's mouth? The poor kid would've turned RED from all the crying and would've annoyed a whole bunch of people on the way there too.

Not like ranting this will make things much better, but still. I am annoyed.

Countries like Japan and Korea allow the consumption of BOTH food AND drinks leh. Yes, yes argue and say it's because the train journies are longer. (ie from city to city) but within Seoul and Tokyo itself I see people eating and drinking what!

I say, SMRT should fine the people who LEAVE LITTER BEHIND INSTEAD! Or make it so that it is the person who wet/dirtied the train who has the responsibility to report to the control crew that he/she has spilt something.

Argh. On another note, school sucks. I want holidays.

In between coughing fits.

Saturday, September 5, 2009 @ 11:59 PM

Andrew says I look like I am going to collapse from coughing. HAHA.
Shawn talking about how he went to s*** in the forest during camp and immediately getting 5 mosquito bites on his a**. Hilarious!
Carmelita saying she is going to leave her hair long! SHOCK!
Gerald with a funny t-shirt with two guns pointing downwards. HAHA.
Catching up with Christine. Yay!
Bumping into Masao outside Ion. Went grocery shopping for Japanese food. Eye-opening!
Making Kenny laugh because I started 'dancing' in Burger King. Hee!

but the cough is not getting better!

And people are asking me, "How is school?"
I reply, "well, it's only the 3rd week and I'm sick. What does that tell you?"

Haha, I'll be fine soon. Pray for me! :)
