BRAND'S® InnerShine Marine Collagen Essence Strip in Acai Berry Flavour

Thank you BRAND'S® for the work essential kit!! Working in the office all day causes my hands to be dry and the hand sanitizer is also very useful! Of course, jotting down ideas and using the thumbdrive to transfer files are also part and parcel of a day at work, coupled with a quick gargle after lunch and keeping those lips moisturized! Very thoughtful gift!

Most importantly, I'm very glad to get the Marine Collagen Essence Strip in Acai Berry! Out of the 3 collagen flavours for BRAND'S® InnerShine Marine Collagen Essence Strip- (Acai Berry, Kyoho Grape and Japanese Mikan), my favourite flavour has got to to be Acai Berry! It's sour yet sweet, and you can barely taste the fishy collagen taste! Also, each strip is really convenient to keep in your bag for a boost during the day. If your skin is lacking of collagen, it will appear dry, dull, lacking in elasticity and show other signs of aging. Yikes!

Once you hit 25, collagen loss will exponentially increase, so it's important that we take collagen regularly (recommended 2 strips a day) to keep your skin radiant and supple! BRAND'S® InnerShine Marine Collagen Essence Strip is also rich in Vitamin  E to help fight oxidation and reduce effects of free radicals and use low molecular weight collagen of deep sea fish produced in Japan.

Off to start my routine now! :)

Cure insomnia - without the sleeping pills with Sealy

Forget the sleeping pills that make you feel like a slave. Sleeping should be an enjoyable activity. Remember the good old days when you used to sign autograph books and your favourite hobby was sleeping? Turn that into a reality again with these techniques.

I've compiled some suggestions that you could try to help you drift off to sleepyland - the natural way.

Sniff Aromatherapy

Have you ever tried aromatherapy? It's amazing. I just love the smell of lavender or eucalyptus after a stressful day. If burning essential oils aren't your thing, get an eye mask or even a little sachet of dried potpourri and place it near your bed! Inhaling them during the night also helps to ensure continued relaxation so you don't get interrupted sleep that often.

Make sure that your lights are off and your electronic devices (eg, handphone, tablet, laptop) are far away from your reach. Create a conducive environment for an important time of your day!

Claire's own remedy

Here's a little trick that I use to fall asleep when my mind just can't seem to switch off.

Step 1: Take a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale. Do this about 3 times.

Step 2: Starting with my face, do a top to toe check to make sure you're relaxed. Are you frowning subconsciously? Are any muscles in your body tensed? Relax them!

Step 3: Feeling more calm already? Think of a black circle. Now expand that circle as wide as you can.

Sometimes I fall asleep at Step 2 hahah.

Once sleeping becomes enjoyable again, you'll be more attached to your bed than ever!

Get a Sealy Mattress

You knew this was coming. I haven't had insomnia ever since I had my Sealy mattress and I'm positively sure it's because of how comfortable my bed is!! Sometimes I'm just lying in bed texting and next thing I know, I'm fast asleep. Not kidding!! Their revolutionary Posturepedic Titanium Coil supports my body whichever direction I turn by distributing the weight.

Nothing's gonna change my love for my Sealy

Take a warm bath

Candles, rose scents in the air (or the smell of your fragrant shower gel) and some alone time is a wonderful way to prep yourself for bed. Without that sense of urgency and rush, your mind relaxes. Taking a warm bath will raise your body temperature slightly, and when you get out, the rapid cooldown will mimic the natural temperature drop the brain triggers as it prepares for sleep.

I like taking a shower before sleeping because being clean kinda makes me feel like I'm washing all the grime from the day away and the next day's going to be better. Therapeutic!

Pamper your mind and body by investing in a mattress that will bring tons of intangible benefits!!

Cut the Caffeine

I remember once I had supper with friends around 11pm and I ordered milk tea. That little drink kept me up til 4am even though I was physically exhausted! Did you know that half the amount of caffeine you've consumed stays in your system even after 5 hours?? For best sleep results, try to stop taking any caffeine products after lunch. Your body will thank you later.

If all else fails, try a new sleeping position.

What's the secret to having good skin, a better complexion and that special glow? Having enough sleep!
I feel energetic and alert as long as I get my 8 hours on my Sealy and other mattresses (yes, sometimes even in hotels) don't make me feel as well rested.

I hope you enjoyed reading these tricks you could try to cure your insomnia. Did it work? Let me know in the comments below if you have other suggestions or your remedies too!

Nestle Goodness - Eating well and feeling good

You can have all the money in the world but you can't buy health.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the healthiest person. I don't swear by organic food, eat salads regularly for lunch, abstain from alcohol, whatever.

However, I do try to cut down on sugary treats, I don't snack too often, and try to have a balanced diet. Although I don't play sports regularly, I walk a lot, like I'll walk from Orchard to Dhoby, through shopping malls, until my legs are sore :x

One of the best methods to keep in shape is comedic relief! Laughing til your stomach hurts is healthy in its own way too :)

The secret to staying healthy - eating well!

Being happy also helps you keep healthy, and Nestle has launched the 'Enjoy an Appetite for Life' campaign to promote nutrition, health and wellness through 3 main focal points:

- Goodness
- Activity
- Togetherness

Since we're talking about food and I'm hungry, let's talk about 'Goodness' in this entry, which is all about eating well to ensure your body gets the nutrients to power your body and help you achieve your best!

If you follow me on instagram, I posted a mission profile for Agent Claire, specially created by Nestle and describes my hair as Barbie doll like and spending quality time with friends and family.  Now that's entirely true! (Except the Barbie bit, can't pull off blonde hair)

Part of the contents was this Nestle cereal in a cute little jar (pictured above) with a friendly reminder to balance meals by adding vegetables or fruits with yogurt. I'm not a huge fan of yogurt but I normally do try to add vegetables and an egg in my Maggi Mee!

Was excited about my cereal so I woke up early one Saturday morning, found a pretty bowl, added fresh milk, and voila! A great start to my morning :)

Nestle cereal contains whole grains which means you're ingesting vitamins and minerals rich with essential components for a good breakfast! Gotta fill up your stomach and pump your body with energy to last the day.

I also enjoy making a cup of milo, one of my favourite drinks, in the mornings to perk up my day. It contains Protomalt which contains natural carbohydrates and Actigen-E which helps give you the energy you need. It also helps that it tastes sweet, yummy and chocolate-y!

PSST! Did you know that Milo was named after the Greek mythical character Milo, who is well-known for his strength? Well, now you do!

A few days later, Nestle sent me my 'reinforcement' Togetherness package. Here's what's in it!
  • 2x pack of NesCafe Ipoh White Coffee Original premix coffee - 15 sachets each, for a lazier morning ;p
  • Nescafe Gold Pure Soluble Coffee with naturally containing antioxidants, for tastier coffee and less lazy mornings hahah
  • Nestle Coffee mate coffee creamer for richer and creamier coffee - two teaspoons of creamy goodness please!
  • 2x pack of KitKat - 12 pieces each - one of my favourite chocolate wafers I can munch on all day long.
  • Baci Peruginr - dark chocolate hazelnut fondente for those sinful end-of-the-day celebrations yayyyy
Most of Nestle's products are halal, which means our muslim friends can enjoy them too!

Best part about this pack is that I get to share them with my family and friends. My family is crazy over coffee and need to have a cup every morning. They saw the hamper and were so excited they kept bugging me to open it! As for the KitKat, I'll be bringing them to work this week to share with my co-workers :) I like sharing yummy food with the people I care about because that way, they can enjoy them too!
